Zoo-Mash-Ups (2006-2007). With this series of small concentrated sculptures I was exploring the idea of using found plush animals, mashing them up into groups of 2 each and covering up a section of the animals' bodies with pieces of scrap fabric. An exhibition of the animals was held in January of 2007 in Dover, New Hampshire, US as well as at the gallery I co-own and run in Portsmouth, New Hampshire later in 2007. Since then, some have sold, some given away and the remaining will be used in larger installations where the animals will live in an environment which suits them. A slight exception to the mash-up rule are the 2 pieces "Kрасавица (Krasavitza/Beauty)" and "Звяр (Zvjar/Beast)" made for an exhibition revolving around the perception of beauty in Sofia, Bulgaria. These 2 pieces were accompanied by (in the form of the pieces watching) a video piece regarding beauty starring my mascots/children Chicken & Monkey.
